Yeah, its hard to say they were robbed over the 90 mins, but it might have been different with a another policy on yellow cards/bans (though Pepe would also have played, I think).

I've thought this for years now, so it's not just sour grapes, but in a tournament of this length, I don't think there should be bans for yellows at all. In the end, wiping them after the semis is basically an arbitrary thing to do.

And I don't think Ramsey's yellow for handball was right, anyway - that bit is sour grapes.

It was mentioned during the Q/F, but with the addition of an extra game (round of 16) it did seem odd they didn't wipe the yellows at the Q/F stage. Two yellows over five matches is a bit harsh.

That was so that players wouldn't miss the final. But it's not ok to miss the final and is ok to miss the semi? That's arbitrary.
