I'm fairly sure the idea of having some sort of screen in the hallway that could (among other things) show bus 'countdown' style info was seriously intended for some new developments about 12 years ago - from memory on the developments round the dartford 'fastrack' bus network that were the next phase of it all just before the shit hit the fan in 2008...
