I use newgroups now for all my needs and have done for about 5 years, but it makes me wonder, with all the torrent sites / mega upload etc getting taken down by the US if they would be able to do this to newsgroups, , I mean newsgroups have been around since boefre the dawn of the proper internetz, do they run on different technology and whats to stop them getting taken down ? or is because the majority of users of newsgroups dont share files back do they see them as not as much as a threat ?
