'Socialism is our launchpad!'

What sort of venue is this? Would someone in a tracksuit be welcome? I'm asking for a friend and it's definitely not my kind of thing.

tracksuits fine i think. ape and apple is basically a kind of smart-casual pub... Joseph Holts brewery so it's quite cheap. bit of an everyman place really.

Thanks, actually the friend I'm asking for is frances lengel, any idea how well that will go down with folk from here? He would really like to go but would probably welcome a friendly face or two.

Will hopefully be there and politely avoid :)

I was there, but I arrived late and left quick at the end (work) - it was great though, loads of interesting stuff. Good to see so many people in too! Was that a typical crowd for one of your things Das Uberdog?

Is ken mcleod a tankie?

That was actually a relatively mediocre sized crowd as the recent events have gone... I counted 78 at peak - we had 120 at our last public meeting and about 130 at last years spring conference. Not to boast but we always get complimented on our demographic spread too! Always a good mixed crowd from all sorts of backgrounds - social and political. Glad you enjoyed it mate.

Oh, and Ken MacLeod is actually an orthodox Trot. History in the IMG!

Ah ok you're the one hosting it? I would have stayed around after to chat but i was pushing my luck getting my other half to come with me to start with!

Thanks for sharing the photos.

Any chance of anyone having made video/transcripts of the event?

i was half tempted to do a shout out for the urbs attending but thought it might be an abuse of my position ;P
