This is amazing. It's about someone who has lost her husband to suicide so be careful if you might be triggered, but it is heartwarming, funny, sad, and all the things. All about the importance of friends and family but also of being your own person too. Very recommended.

Another book in the same series* as "Hinterland" by Phil Neel which was a favourite of mine over the last few years. This is a bit more melancholic but still bang on - the author tries in vain to escape his trailer park upbringing to become middle class. Around him small town America and a lot of the people in it decay. He is defiantly class first and anti-identity politics (but not aggressively). It's really well written - like Hinterland it reads more like a novel or travelogue in places.
