Sharply and sparingly written feminist novella about a deeply unhappy woman in a collapsing and unfaithful marriage who begins an affair of her own with a humanoid frog. Really very good. I was surprised as I was reading this that it's set in the US as something about its style seemed very British. Later I looked up Ingalls and though she was born in America she moved to the UK and lived there a long time so maybe that explains it.

An ambitious one this! And a bit of a misleading title, I think it's a bit more of a critique of Marxism than a straightforwardly Marxist work. I already knew I should get around to reading CLR James and WEB DuBois at some point but this has definitely reminded me I should read them, especially James. Also glad I read the EP Thompson first because some sections of Robinson's book are very inspired by that. Also an unexpected tie-in with the Wypijewski, since both books talk about Baldwin's critique of Richard Wright (Wypijewski enthusiastically, Robinson just listing Baldwin as an example of one of the many people who he thinks were unfair to Wright). Anyway, next up going to re-read John Darnielle - Universal Harvester.

Ok I got myself a new kindle and decided to break it in by rereading a good book. This will be most likely followed by the other three in the series. I do like me a good sci fi. This one follows the crew of a worm hole tunneling ship as it travels to new job site. While there is a plot this is much more about the characters and how these mix of aliens deal with each other.
