Popped in here last night and had a grand time of it. Lovely landlady, great musicians, fabulous atmosphere, affordable prices and well worth the trek out of Brixton.

Anyone else been?

A lovely, traditional-styled Irish pub in Camberwell New Road, the Old Dispensary is a small, one floor pub with an interesting history.

Yeah - I like it too. Often go there to watch the football. Pleasant staff, good food, decent mix of people.

i am not sure, I think it must be about 15 years, maybe less, after the chemists shut it became a restaurant iirc

Around 2000/1/2 it was a chemist. Was certainly empty around then.

When I was putting up posters for HDIF in Camberwell, this pub was the first to say yes - they didn't mind that it was at another venue and judging by the pics they're happy to take posters for anywhere, as long as they like the look of the night. One of the posters in the BB pics is for a night in central London! Nice friendly guys and a good attitude.

It really is an ace pub on Mondays. Most of the jam sessions around Brixton are super muso and intimidating, but anyone can join in here.
