the neoliberal vision of the future

After a while (7 years) you could be.

You forget that Norway has not yet encountered LLETSA in the flesh.

Not only have I read The Selfish Gene thouroughly, I am also in the process of writing a book about it. It's called "The religious atheists: modern medievalism and the gates to hell." In this book there is a large section in which I rip apart the socalled "altruism" and shows that there is no such thing in biology, only individual self-interest.

Is this something that you will be paying to publish, or have you actually interested a reputable publisher in paying you to write it?

If it's the former, it doesn't really count as anything but egotism and vanity.

Oh! He published my comment! Another guy, Blaa-Knut (meaning... blue cunt), has written in to say "Our freedom is slowly going down the drain if no-one does like you and stand up to these evil collectivists".

Really? Perhaps a little backing up of your own should have been considered before you posted this :

Hmm?

Or is it that 'backing up' only applies when one of you feel it's necessary?

Perhaps this is just another juvenile paradox? It's interesting how what is 'hypocrisy' in one person is a 'paradox' in another.

How... um.... paradoxical.

There is no paradox, except the one your mind is manufacturing.

Pay attention, Crispy didn't stand by that assertion.

Pay attention yourself. The "assertion" was actually "assertions", and Crispy said nothing about the assertion that Onar had been "rumbled on half a dozen falsehoods" on this thread.

Hope that helps to set you straight. ;)

The money for setting up export infrastructure is going to come from investors who are attracted to the combination of a) low taxes, b) good governanve, c) low wages, OR see the potential that other investors are likely to be attracted by these things and therefore builds the infrastructure to cater to them.

So, zero startup capital? But the most attractive thing to investors is the return. Does good governance include offering a guarantee or an estimate of the RoI?

Fair enough, I was referring to the sock-puppet charge.

There are ways around these things. There was a sock-puppet a while ago in Theory and philosophy. Bless him, he got himself into a muddle, but the identical posting styles were a give-away anyway. That time, Crispy said there were no grounds to suspect sock-puppetry, but it was, nonetheless.

Sure it can happen, all you need is a different IP. That said I think it more probable that Onan got one of his acolytes in.

Time is fast approaching

when everything in the world is gonna change, including our very lives and safety---the enemies of the West is gathering forces...soon the shadow will be over us...and who are u socialists going to support? Our enemies or our precious civilization...the most advanced and developed culture this planet has ever seen?

Umm ... is this a trick question?

At the moment there is no startup capital pledged to the Free State Initiative. That will come at a later stage. Good governance does not include any such guarantees you mention. However, loads of research confirm and quantify the effect of good vs bad governance. Any business with a hint of experience with bad governments knows the value of good governance and cherishes it. This to them is more important than low taxes.

Any business with experience of bad governance knows that it can be the best environment for business, witness the open bribery perpetrated by Statoil among others. FAIL

Yay! Here comes the cavalry.

dun dada dun dada dun dada dun dada da–da

Also, it rather depends what you think 'advanced and developed' means and what you see as the threats to that. See e.g. Science vs Capitalism.

Now we are beginning to see a bit of doubt creep in. Soon 'good governance' will extend to having armed forces and weaponry to defend the new 'free state' from attacks from those who want to take it over, the dreaded 'socialists', 'fascists' and communists who are all deemed to be the same thing. It is interesting that the vast sums of money expended on so called 'defence' by existing capitalist countries are never queried by the captains of industry and the venture capitalists, even when it distorts the economy and causes inflation and recession.
