It's telling me the page doesn't exist yet suitgirl

Wow, that was amazing! I heartily recommend it. Doesn't take long to make either.

Followed the recipe exactly except I used Pecorino Romano instead of Parmesan.

Notice:

I'm setting up a site-wide urban75 wiki and am copying the recipes across. If you add any recipes to the old wiki, could you put the title of your recipe at the top of the page so I can pick it up later?

Thanks :)

What a brilliant idea. Do they have to be your own recipes?

For instance, Parsley Liquor (Pie n Mash style)

25 Gram Butter (1 oz)
25 Gram Plain flour (1 oz)
300 ml Water (10 fl oz)
4 Tablespoon Chopped fresh parsley
Salt and freshly ground pepper
1 Teaspoon Malt vinegar, optional

How to make Parsley Liquor

Melt the butter in a saucepan. Add the flour and cook for 1 minute.
Gradually add the water or stock. Bring to the boil, stirring continuously. Add the parsley and seasoning and vinegar if using.
Serve with a minced beef pie and mashed potatoes

Obviously not an original recipe, but delicious none the less :)

Most recipes on there have been taken from somewhere so no :)

If you've lifted it verbatim, probably best to mention that, but most people experiment with recipes anyway so they're not actually plagiarised

is the recipe wiki having problems or something? Hardly anything seems to be on there. I want the sausage casserole recipe!

Someone deleted everything off the front page - no idea if it was malicious or accidental.

I'll revert to the last version (you can see all the versions by clicking the History button)

Some of the recipes seem to have broken links. It might be because people are changing the title of them on the front page. The name is the link, so changing the name breaks the link.

Heres one I made earlier:

Lamb and mushroom toad in the hole

Take a couple of pound of lamb sausages, chop them up and fry them. Don't fry them until totally cooked though and part way through cooking add some (loads of) mushrooms to taste.

Make up a batter consiting of

two eggs

6 oz plain flour

water (or milk and water if you re ok with mixing meat and milk)

salt and pepper.

Beat up the batter untill it holds bubbles

add the mushrooms chopped into the batter

Put the sausage pieces into a baking tray containing a couple of dessert spoons of oil (make sure the pan has been in the oven for about 8 mins before putting sausages in)

Pour over the batter and mushroom mixture.

Cook for 40 mins or until cooked in an oven at gas mark 7 or 8.

Luvverly.

Vote of thanks to agnesdavies for her lentil and spinach lasagne on urbanwiki - don't think I'll be able to move for a day or two, plus a well written, amusing method.

<groans>

spag bol (with brocolli and carrots in :D ) followed by ice cream with broken up easter egg on top

I think you got the wrong thread love :D unless you posted the recipe for broken easter egg on the wiki :D

I'm not sure how this Wiki thing works but this is a recipe what I do regularly:

Socket's Chicken Breast With Nice Stuff In And Around It With Funky Salad

Stuff for the chicken:

Chicken breast,
Bacon,
Brie,
A little grated mature cheddar,
Fresh basil,
Cayenne pepper,
A little garlic.

Stuff for the salad:

Green stuff,
Tomatoes,
Olives,
Fresh basil,
Grated mature cheddar,
Goats cheese (decent stuff, not the processed nonsense),
Olive oil,
Balsemic vinegar,
Wholegrain mustard.

The plot:

Whack your oven on at about 210 ish. Slice off a bit of brie, chop up a few basil leaves, chop up a little garlic (TBH you might as well use garlic granules), lay three slices of bacon down, slice the side of the chicken breast, pop the brie, basil and garlic in the resulting gash, pop the breast on the bacon and wrap the bacon 'round the breast taking care to get it as well sealed as possible to avoid brie dribblage. Pop a little grated cheddar on top and finish with a sprinkle of cayenne pepper (mostly for the look of the thing as anything.)

Whack the breast and bacon construction on an oven tray and pop it on the middle shelf of the oven. It'll take 25 mins ish, possibly 30.

Get a bowl, whack in the green leaves, basil, some goats cheese, tomato (quartered, eighthed, chopped, whatever you preference), olives, grated cheddar, a bunch of olive oil, a splot or two of balsemic vinegar and a healthy dollop of wholegrain mustard. Put the lid on and shake it around a bit. Shake it around some more. Shake it a third time while having a little boogie.

Wander off for a bit.

When the chicken's done take it out of the oven and pop it on a plate. Take a healthy dollop of the salad and whack it on the plate next to the chicken.

Sit down, eat it and wonder why you're still single.

I can't work out how to add a recipe, so will post it here:

Delicious Dhal

Ingredients:

250g Red lentils
600ml vegetable stock (I prefer Marigold bouillon)
Grated ginger – a piece about the size of half a thumb
1-2 cloves garlic – crushed
1 large or 2 small onions – chopped
1 tablespoon curry paste

1. Heat the stock in a pan with the lentils. When boiling add the ginger and garlic.
2. Boil rapidly for 10 minutes, then cover and simmer for 20 minutes, checking to add more water if necessary.
3. Meanwhile fry the onion until soft or browned, then add the curry paste and heat through for a couple of minutes.
4. Add the onion mixture to the lentils and heat through.

Great with naan bread. Can be left for a day and used as a spread too.
