The Frankincense Trail - Kate Humble - what does the team think ?

I hummus, therefore I am ...
I enjoyed the first programme. KH generally comes across as intelligent as well as personable, and the photography was very impressive, but I cringed a bit, and found myself, on reflection, unable to watch any more of it.

Never mind respecting other cultures, even more so in the case of Alice Roberts exploring the Rift valley, surely these blonde-haired women know to cover up and wear a hat in the burning sun ? They're never going to get a tan. ...
I'll resist posting a "Fast Show" reference, suffice to say I'm sure that perm of hers would have sprung back afterwards ... ;)

As for frankincense, I once bought some - mixed with myrrh - to try at home and it pongs of old hymn books - maybe the good stuff is different ...

I thought it was pretty good. Kate Humble is no Roger Cook but fair play to her for challenging her escort over his sexism. Nice to see youth culture in Jeddah as well.

even more so in the case of Alice Roberts exploring the Rift valley,
Oi, leave Dr Alice alone!

I enjoyed The Frankincense thing. I wasn't expecting anything more than a glossy travelogue. It was slighyly more than that (though not much), so I was quite happy. (Humble can grate a bit, though).
