Mongrels are free though, aren’t they? Never envisioned having to pay for a pet
I must research how to get a dog ahead of the autumn.
Thanks that’s helpful.Stay away from sites like Pets4Homes and FreeAds etc. Full of puppy mills and irresponsible breeders.
look at your local[ish] rescues, preferably the no-kill shelters.I must research how to get a dog ahead of the autumn.
Did he have any cornichons with it?And the breadsticks that were with it
I even heard him do it. He came on the bed for his bedtime dentastix type treat and a few minutes later as I was drifting off to sleep I heard rustling on the sofa. Which means he planned it - waited til I was drifting off and went back upstairs to where I'd left them
One thing rescue places can insist on is 6ft hedges/walls/fences round the garden, which is where I'd have difficulty. I think I've finally (yeh yeh) sealed off the breaks in the hedge. I should have done this when I got him but thought I was going to have to put up 50 yards of chicken-wire type fence. I've pruned back some hazels and a buddleia and layered them into what I realized half way through is a dead hedge
A couple of places he's just run straight up the hedge and through the layering so I've added fortifications (second photo if this works)
We'll see, but at least today I heard him barking furiously at a squirrel from inside the garden, rather than two fields away
Pet stairsWhereas I have to lift Cassie on the bed sometimes.
She tries to jump but she just has little rituals about jumping up things and lots of false starts.
She does dig though and I've caught her making the hedgehog route bigger to get to nextdoor neighbour's tennis balls!
