The dog thread is better than the cat thread, because it features dogs.

I’m away at my mums. Last time I was here there was a dog next door who cried all the time. Haven’t heard a peep this visit, and also got to meet her all waggy and happy when she came in over the broken fence panel and had a quick explore before I hooshed her out.

It’s interesting you say ‘ignored it’ ‘loved it’ as that suggests they were making a choice. I really don’t think my old dog could see or process television yet I think this one can.

How is Frankie adapting two sheds ?
Really well thanks :). He's settling in nicely. Took him to see the vet who gave me some good background information and was impressed at how calm he is for a cocker.

Lovely start to the day cos he sleeps on the bed and snuggles up against me when we wake up awwww. Just spent five minutes demanding I stroke his chest and moving my hand back if I instead go to stroke his back. It's really good getting out for the two walks a day again and seeing neighbours, and other dog walkers I've not seen for six months. He's a joy and I feel so lucky my neighbour suggested me. His previous owners sound happy too because they thought they were going to have to put him in a rescue and he wouldn't have done well there.

Variable with other dogs, he's had a snap at a couple - not biting but a 'bugger off' type snap. And am going to have to work on his lead pulling. He's better now when we're coming back from a walk but still quite determined on the way out. Very strong for such a small dog. A mate pointed out the size of his paws  apparently bred that way for swimming.

Did I ever mention that Ted’s tongue is too long for his mouth? He permanently has about an inch sticking out. It makes him look dozy but that’s okay because he is dozy.

Because the tongue is permanently out, he doesn’t just sniff things, he automatically tastes them too. And this is what he does now, tastes the world. So that makes him sick his tongue out even more.

This is a classic attempt to get a photo

Just had a lovely moment earlier. Next door are fostering a lurcher who was very nervous when she arrived. We all happened to be near each other and the dogs barked, then we chatted, while mungo remembered the little point where he could get into their garden and showed the foster the way out. Cue a delightful 5 or 10 mins of fast dogs chasing each other joyfully.
They were so pleased to see the foster being fine and playful with another dog. I’m just worried he’ll be in their garden every day now digging or burying something.

Humphrey managed to get through to next door earlier. We tried to ages to coax him back through the hole he’d created with no luck so had to wake the neighbours up and do a masked handover as we’ve got covid. Little shit!

He’s also dug a massive hole in the garden. We’re re-seeding the lawn soon but it’s completely pointless with these clowns isn’t it.
Look at the state of it.

Lucy is limping more despite resting her so think we might need to up her painkillers.

Yesterday, when I was in the office and the kabbess was at home, she told me that Ted had done something so awful to his leg that she couldn't even take him for a walk. He'd been holding it up all day, limping, generally being pathetic (least stoical dog ever). Anyway, the moment I got home, there was no sign of any of it and there's been no sign today either. She is torn between relieved and livid that he has apparently played her for a chump.
