The Cure

I think 90 and 95 were the next ones I saw them at. Probably easily googled

I know -- I was habitually lazy late at night, last night ;)

1995 Glasto setlist here

For whatever ciderswilling, chainspliffing reason (at Glastonbury in a very hot and sunny year :p ) that I can't possibly now remember, I wasn't at that gig ...

Jealously noticing the reference fom Voley to the Cure's 1990 gig too :

[media]

Wasn't down the farm at all that year

Very popular in the states too IIRC.

Yep. They've just announced a tour that includes a night at Madison Square Garden and 2 nights at the Hollywood Bowl.

They'll tour until Rob dies I reckon. They can still rock a three hour set like they're in their 20's.

Disintegration
Boys don't cry
All cats are grey
The Figurehead
Cold
Just like heaven
Push
The exploding boy
From the edge of the deep green sea
2 late

(this would prolly have 5 or 6 replacements if I did it tomorrow)

I mean I've just remembered "Just one kiss" and "M" and the astonishing left-right knockout out "Drowning man" & "Faith"

More than one type of pissed-off, too; contrast Faith (can't lift head off shoulder, if I DO it's just for a knackered walk round a deserted reservoir...in the fog) with Pornography (can't lift head off shoulder, if I DO it's to briefly kick a cardboard box in a car park because there's too much noise and world and I don't understand anything that's happening)

My top 5 (which would be different tomorrow!)
Just Like Heaven
In Between Days
Push
Dressing Up
Closedown

Who remembers when a forest was the theme to that kids tv quiz show. Something about computers that had a sports round where they would play something like daily Thompson's decathlon?

Was that the one presented by Maggie Philbin? I think it was called first class. Or was that the one with paperboy.

Top 5 tunes:

Fire in Cairo
Shake Dog Shake
In Between Days
Play For Today
Last Dance

It's not a case of share and share alike, I take what I require

No. It was a bloke and it was called Domesday detectives. Something to do with the BBC's Domesday project that also included a game as a round, for no other reason than it was played on a computer.

where were you Gothing about then? Maybe our paths crossed. Were you in London, did you go to Wraith or Slimelight or Full Tilt ?

No. I live in the Midlands. So I was mostly down The Crown (Nuneatons hot spot for alternative types/the only place you could go without getting into a fight, although that was never guarenteed) or Busters, Silvers, The Rose and Crown in Coventry, Edwards, The Powerhouse and The Barrel Organ in Brum

It must've been hot, I didn't have my leather or trench coat on.... but no dark sunglasses :D

Love this thread. I've missed The Cure!
I love so many Cure songs. Disintegtation is definitely one my favourites though. And Close Down.
Am listening to my old cassette right now, reading the tattered old lyrics that must be well over 20 years old  Will probably have to fix the cassette tape with an old bio later :D
