*The Archers thread

Kenton and Jolene had plenty of time to do their research.
Serves them right if they undersold.
They seemed happy enough with the price (whatever it was).

I'm at a loss to understand the dramatic purpose if that's all the transaction amounts to. Mind you, tonight's episode was outstandingly poorly scripted.

I can't see Justin doing a Scrooge turnaround - but then the scriptwriters think nothing of giving people a character transplant. Tbh I couldn't have foreseen Martyn Gibson having second thoughts about being an evil wheeler dealer, but here we are. Or at least, here he says he is.

And a prison break in the offing?

Jeez, but the writing is terrible at the moment.

Khalil. Sister Zainab.

He's going to be bitten by Hilda the Cat, and then we'll see. Or else he will charm her utterly and she will never want to go home.

I've never heard of someone borrowing a cat to deal with mice. Is that a thing? I'd always assumed they adapted only with great difficulty to a change in surroundings. Though I suppose if she's a mouser and there are mice around...

I am still waiting to hear Justin Elliott apologising to Alice for how badly he treated her ..

Not holding my breath though.

And about Cats that are mousers being in demand, our cat visits a neighbour, the neighbour has mice but our cat, despite being an accomplished hunter, has not caught any of their mice at all. Useless they described it :)

If you borrow a cat you'd have to keep it indoors otherwise it'll bugger off (hopefully) back to where it came from. Needs to be done for a couple of weeks I think if the plans are for it to be there more than a couple of days.

In fiction, no cat sitters have ever not had the cat escape. Panicking about a lost cat is almost compulsory.
