sunbound unsound beach party

I've been to Metaponto - it's a nice beach and there are dolphins for you to spot Yoss :)

it's not far from Matera which is the amazing place with houses and churches and stuff in caves dug out of the hillside - hopefully the fact that the godbothering bastard Gibson made the Jesus film there hasn't spoilt the place - well worth a visit anyway ...

Would perhaps go if I somehow can't get hold of a Glasto ticket,
Can't believe you're choosing wet, muddy and crowded Glastonbury over a hot, sunny spacious beach. :p

There's a better than 50-50 chance the weather will be nice at Glasto as well (Italy's advantage is the reliability of the weather, but we're well overdue a scorcher at Glasto next year, too).

And there'll be a much wider choice of things going on down Pilton way ....

I simply can't afford the time to do both, thus my eleventh Glasto remains the priority for 2005 ...

Still if plenty of others head Italy-wards, that might leave a few more Glasto tickets for the stay at home Urbanites ... :D

i have been instructed to advise you all that woflie and Shirl and (myself) will be going to italy next year!!

(assuming woflie saves his pennies and stops shopping!!!)

:D:D:cool::D:D

will there be creche facilities? :D

We're up for this - what week are peeeps planning on going? 1st or 2nd week in June? Or both?!

I don't think Jan would appreciate being called that ;) :D

Her trotters are lethal I'd be careful if I were you....</aside>

After due consideration...

...can't see why not.

I need a holiday, haven't been away in ages ;)

I could be up for this.. the question is week 1 or week 2? What state will everyone be in by week 2?

Not a Glasto vs Unsound competition post, honest, but ...

I know a lot of people are ruling out Glastonbury or were never going to rule it in in the first place : if that applies to you, ignore this ... :)

But if you were even half-contemplating getting down Pilton way next year as well as heading to Italy, be aware that the Glasto dates look like being quite close to the Unsound fortnight : Glasto will be Wednesday 22nd June to Monday 27th June 2005.

So check your holiday time availability ... I suspect some people are reacting with great enthusiasm (understandable when you see an Italy beach holiday reference in December! :D ), without necessarily thinking through the date-implications ...

Also Strawberry Fair will be the first Saturday in June (the 4th)

This post is provided for public information purposes only and in full awareness of how scatty some folks are about dates :)
