Good tip, though go steady on plastic/nylon tuning pegs. It’s possible to crack them in my experience.

I've never felt the need for a winder.

the only thing I use the winder for is the little notch that helps take out the bridge pins from acoustic guitars when they are stuck, that bit is pretty useful and there isn't any other tool that will do it as well
