Storm Darragh

We're on the south side of Devon where there's only an amber warning, still it's pretty damn gusty. I think the dead tree in the lane in front of our house will stay up .. this time.

I hope everyone's OK this morning. I'm drinking coffee and watching the woods wave, feeling relieved that we're only on the edge of the storm .. this time.

This time. We're only on letter D

It's really, really blowy here. I mean, it's often surprisingly blowy here during a storm anyway, but this really does seem next level. That said, am not too worried, as over the years of being here we're had to make the place pretty windy storm proof as standard, after things like bin stores on the drive have blown into our car or down the lane. So last night when the alert happened I had a wander round the house to double check for anything that might blow away or cause issues, but there didn't seem to be anything. So fingers crossed all will be fine.

My mum got the alert message (in Bath) she hunkered down for the night (after putting the recycling bin in the boot of her car 🤣) Just spoke to her , she wasn't kept awake during the night (she lives in Odd Down which is one of the hills above Bath city centre) .
