Just been out to take all the Xmas lights off the fence and bring the tree into the porch.

Strangely warm out there but really blowy. Last time we had a storm down here (2 weeks ago!) I didn't get a wink of sleep as it was so noisy

Talking about trees, we have a Welingtonia which is humungous, if it got blown over it could squash something like a car flat .. doesn't bear thinking about. Anyhow looking on the bright side it has survived everything the weather has had to offer for perhaps 150 years so it should be ok.

The river is still rising and more rain seems likely.

Well this was my life every summer for 20 years so hey ho, here we go again. I thought moving back to the UK would be the end of extreme weather for me!

Windy as fuck here. All my poly tunnels need a lot of repairs when I can manage to do it. The bench umbrella is still fucked from the last one and I'm constantly concerned a branch may fall through the back shed which is not exactly very stable as it is.
