It's not often I venture this far south, but here's a few photos:

My great aunt used to skate at Streatham ice rink as a girl. It's a shame they're going to bulldoze it, I hadn't realised.

They are rumoured to still serve toasted teacakes!

If Brixton Market can be listed for its historical interest alone, surely the Streatham Wimpy must follow!

There's a Wimpy in Clapham junction also.

I remember going to a Wimpy in Nairobi.. I ordered a curry. Weird menu.

Wimpey are the only UK fast food chain to serve Quorn burgers, and that makes then OK in my book.

Bit surprised to see there's no picture of the bank that is now a betting shop. Still, at least the premises is still taking your money :D

I had a birthday party in Wimpey as a kid :D
Two boys who my mam invited as they were her friends sons tried to batter the poor woman in the Wimpey costume, she had to leg it and wouldn't come back out

Yeah, I know technicaly not Streatham, but I had to get my phone out to take a picture when i saw it.

Streatham Hill isn't technically Streatham?

I used to live in Streatham, still like going down the high road for quite a few things. Until recently one of those things was Purple Cafe but that seems to have been a bit shit the last couple of visits.

It's the phrase "peddle cycles" that always make me chuckle. Anyhow...good pics of my hood Ed!

Next time you are that way, have a wander down sunnyhill street, the school at the end has some nice old features, and opposite is the dairy and behind that unigate woods. Plus there is the Leigham Arms pub just off Sunnyhill street which looks nice.
