I still like deep fried bread, with a deep fried egg on it. Nowadays I prefer either whole grain mustard or soy sauce on it.

There is an aspirational cafe here that still does that - Except that they call it the "Brioche Breakfast" - Doorstep of good bread deep fried in egg, fried egg (or poached/scrambled if you ask), bacon and maple syrup, suppose you could ask for mustard etc as they do serve it with other dishes. Its actually the best reason to go there occasionally and for all its faux-french tweeness, this is about the best value item on the menu!

An Aberdeen Rowie with butter and Golden Syrup is still an occasional breakfast treat for me.
