Casually Red
tomorrow belongs to me
shes fighting with Simon Cowell now, and some blueshirt politician has had to apologise for calling her mad as a brush on twitter, even though he was agreeing with her.
I grew up in a place where "chinky" was used all the time, so clearly I can keep using it because I'm Scottish. Being bigoted is cultural.
the sociology lectures from Ms spangles and Agent Sparrow.....
well this aint true at all. Words - especially when they describe what it looks like (that doesnt mean 'is' by the way) - i said 'whoor' which is Dublinese for 'hooker' and Sinead said 'prostitute' - describes what it looks like. You dont have to be PC to have an opinion on this....
Watching her in interviews I'd have to say it does appear she knows what's she doing. Someone earlier alluded to the idea that if she loses her current fame she'll attempt a reinvent claiming she was manipulated and how she realized how she was used etc. Inclined to believe that may well be the case...
I don't know why people are acting like this is a new phenomenon. Britney Spears' Slave and Christina Aguelera (sp) Dirty were well over a decade ago. Popstars have always used sex to sell records. Bieber and the One Direction lads have always got their shirts off.
Do you think girls would go mad over Bieber if he looked like Van Morrison?
As I stated earlier, its "Pop Star in sexy dancing and skimpy outfit shock"
women eh
it doesn't matter if you studied the evolution of the biro though does it? It doesn't matter if you spent your entire GCSE exam period in a school for the excluded and were so stoned you got across the board ungradeds cos you never even turned up. It's still fairly obvious that talking about whores and the notional sanctity of the female body is not on. Cos it buys into a virgin/whore mythos that does nothing for anyone.
Oh I see, so using loaded language is fine as long you're the one doing it. I see now!

Fucksake.
Gender studies, not sociology.
What is it about Dublin folk, that they think they're the font of Irish culture, for fuck's sake?
Double first, so I heard.
Possibly better if it didn't have tour dates on the bottom.true . Anyway, has anyone seen Sinead O' Connor's latest latter to Miley Cyrus??? Bloody hell, its taken a mad turn!!

Hm, not sure if we can draw any conclusions from a guardian vox pop. I suspect their sample may be somewhat skewed...http://www.theguardian.com/culture/2013/oct/08/miley-cyrus-what-women-her-age-think
Given my advanced years, I guess the opinion of Miley's target audience (i.e. women her age) is more relevant than mine... Strong consensus in there too.
Although, to be frank, I doubt that's the age group listening to and watching her...

yeah, that's what I was wondering too... But still, at least they made the effort
Reading Sinead's latest letter: quite grim to see this being turned into an attack into Sinead's mental health, really messed up... Hope the stress of all this doesn't affect her too hard.
She's had tense times before. I remember talking to her after one particularly distressing fax (this was back in the 90s) about custody & she came across as a humourous, highly intelligent person. She has been punished for over 2 decades now for being an articulate, intelligent woman who is not afraid to speak her mind. And to some folk (male) that's a red rag to a bull.

Seconded. I glanced at it briefly, and immediately regretted it. If anyone out there is thinking of looking at it, don't.It's on her main Facebook page, which is really her. Airing the dirty laundry, desperate, tragic and aggressive all at once. I hope she gets the help she needs...
