So I went to Ikea to buy myself an office chair to get some work done from home. Once I got the chair home I was reliably informed that I had not bought an office chair at all. Nope, I had bought a cat bed. Another cat bed *

Griff turned 6 yesterday - yes, that IS a good age for a guinea pig and yes he does seem to be doing surprisingly well. He gained back the weight and condition that went a bit down 2 1/2 years ago when he had the mastectomy, and no longer even has to go for check ups. I know neither he nor Mal (or any of us for that matter!) will live forever, but I'm so delighted he's continuing to grace us with his presence.

Found some pictures of Charlie on instagram and on my phone/ipad I'd forgotten about. This one was taken maybe only a couple of weeks before he died:

I miss that big old fluffy belly so much
And this, for those of you not following my long-winded posts in the cat thread, is Agent Peggy Carter, who will be joining me here in a few weeks once I'm finished having a big clearout:
She's approx. 10, and this is her third time in the same cat shelter since 2007 due to a series of unfortunate and sad circumstances. She seems to be in good health, but is very starved for love and attention. I met her today and we had some lovely head rubs and purrs. The paperwork is done, and they've kindly agreed to look after her until this place is safe and comfortable for her. Then she can come and relax in her retirement home
