Self-indulgent pet thread

Sure I must have posted to this thread before but search says "no". Meet Little Miss - half Siamese, moved in with us from next door at our old house, and Rollo, big idiot rescue cat. Thankfully for us they mostly get on :D

Another jacket for Breeze - can't really tell but it's camo made up of dinosaurs!

Not sure what to make of this :D

Innit, this is my favourite of him not long after we got him. He was a house cat before we had him (with three other cats and a dog) so he'd never been outside, so snow was fascinating :D

Yes, that muzzle is amazing! Encountered a very affectionate kitty relaxing on a wall near my house the other day that had similar markings. Glad he liked the snow! First time Herbert (RIP) encountered snow, when he was about 13, he detested it, poor guy!

He is an awesome cat :D What breed is he? I'm rubbish with cat breeds, only ever had moggies.
She's a Maine Coon, and yes, they are absolutely awesome. It's like a dream come true to have one at last. It's going to be shit when I go back to work and can't spend so much time with her (unless I can find a job where they're happy for me to have a dog cat assistant, and a couple of guinea pig clerks, preferably!) :)

Thought she might be a Maine Coon, but didn't want to betray my ignorance  Beautiful.

Animals in the workplace help reduce people's stress levels. Fact. Except for people who don't like animals, who can all fuck off. :D

Schrodes is a stupid bastard sometimes, he's evidently been eating grass this week and managed to get a few strands of it stuck half in/half out of his bum whilst pooing thing evening.

I didn't notice til I saw him dragging his arse across the carpet  So after carefully removing strands of poo covered grass from his bum I had the added treat of cleaning skid marks off the carpet.

Cue an hour of me alternating between gagging and fraught worry about whether he's done himself an injury whilst he skips about happy as anything

Still it's a relief that he seems to be fine now :)

We had to do this with my freinds dog after it had eaten a cassette tape once

She's gorgeous! You can easily see in the first photo that she is part Siamese, the other photos are less obvious but in that one she could pass for an Oriental.

My moggy is half Cornish Rex, his face is very reminiscent of that breed, although the curly hair is a recessive gene so he has straight hair (and massive whiskers, which CRex usually lack) - his mother was a registered Cornish Rex, his father was 'the fulffy white & black tom who lurks around at the end of the garden'.

Random Cornish Rex kitten (very pretty!):

Oh, the pigs are seasoned travellers. They were in the blue soft sided travel bag you can just about see in the photo where Breeze is looking through the window above. If it's more than about 1 1/2 hours travel, I'll stop and give them some water by syringe, but always put in wet things like yellow pepper and cucumber for the journey.

Breeze travelled better than any cat since Nigel (ginger cat I had about 30 years ago that I took in the car from when he was a kitten.) She was hooked to the seatbelt in the back but mainly sat on OH's lap for most of the journey. On the way back, she seemed to notice things outside more (what passing cars thought of being eyeballed by a serious-faced grey tabby, I don't know!) The only time she seemed to get anxious and a bit shaky was when we stopped and opened the door and she could see and hear other cars. She's okay to be in cars, but hates the sight and sound of other cars.

When we got there, she nosed all around the place and within about 15 minutes, acted like she'd been there forever. She really is very adaptable and quite chilled for a cat. Very lucky!
