Yes. He seemed an unpleasant man, and also apparently believed that his position gave him a free pass.

He was a massive figure in Scottish nationalism and devolution era Scotland. I wonder the extent to which his fall out with sturgeon led to the project imploding or whether he was merely at the top before what was always going to collapse due to its increasingly obvious contradictions began crumbling

To me he was an old man and the whole situation gave me the ick. So no.

Well, he was raised in Australia and Durham, but he was certainly born and went to secondary school in Edinburgh.

But he’s perhaps a politician from Scotland rather than a Scottish politician.
