If they were failing they wouldn't be there surely?
Well that's bollocks.
the kids today download these digital files called mp3s
well they wont be for much longer, its only people over 40 that buy cds and people over 50 that buy records.
The're also plenty of kids buying dubstep and grime on vinyl.
Spillers Records - the oldest record shop in the WORLD
wiki said:Spillers Records, established in 1894, is the oldest record shop in the world.[1] It is located in Cardiff, Wales. In addition to selling music, it is the city's main location for buying tickets for alternative music concerts.
Spillers was founded in 1894 by Henry Spiller at its original location in Queen’s Arcade, where the shop specialised in the sale of phonographs, wax phonograph cylinders and shellac phonograph discs

i know... it's mental. there was at least another 2 copies in action yesterday at 3 pm too...
the one day of the year when your local emporium looks like this at 9 in the morning...
cba queueing so i popped in on my way home to survey the dregs. i got a toots & the maytals 7".
anyone else got owt good?
If they were failing they wouldn't be there surely?
it seems utterly futile to me tbf. fetish vinyl for foolish people.
Not sure how much the 5x7" ed banger set was but one went for nearly £500. ID's were hidden, I wondered if people were setting up new accounts to bid them to silly prices with no intention of paying.
that's basically it, the only point is well, 2 points - to give indie shops a well deserved cash boost, and 2 ) to gove people like me the chance to make money out of sad bastards
nope, not point 2. that's what makes you vermin.
i'll pop in and ask on the way home...
whats this? It wasn't on the list i saw?
it's the record industry's annual concession to indie record stores: basically the labels all make limited edition pressings of records (some new, some repressings), and make them available only through independent record stores on the same day.
then ebay dealers queue from 5am to get first dibs on the rare stuff, and whack it straight on ebay at a substantial mark-up. a copy the toots 7" i got on saturday for 6 quid sold for 65 quid yesterday... i popped back into my local store on the way to work and they still had copies, so i got another.
