Recommend me a recent film that is funny.

The Odd Couple? It's not very recent. But "You leave me little notes on my pillow...'we are all out of cornflakes, FU'. It took me two weeks to work out 'FU' was 'Felix Unger'" - come on!

Problem with asking for a recommendation for a 'funny' movie is that it's like asking to be recommended 'good music'. It has to be done by someone with similar tastes to yours for it to work.

I don't remember watching any really funny movies this year (or recently)... Nothing that made me laugh out loud anyway. 'Submarine' is very sweet though, and probably the most upbeat movie of the year so far.

i have Submarine - I may watch it tonight. Bit put off by the protagonist's voice though. Where's he supposed to be from?

no it definitely wasn't welsh. it was, just...odd. maybe somewhere obscure in the midlands. looks like it was filmed in hastings though

If you haven't watched it, I recommend it. I liked it a lot (gave it a 7 on imdb)! (but then again we might like different things in our movies...)

edit: from reading some of the reviews on imdb it's set in Wales (Swansea)

What's the name of the Brit black comedy about a company that go on a team building holiday in Eastern European countryside? That was good.

Severance.

I enjoyed it. Sure it's not a work of any intellectual or artistic merit, but it was entertaining. I like bubblegum for the brain sometimes.

(I remembered it being Simon Pegg instead of Dyer. Amazing how the mind protects itself isn't it?)

Quite enjoyed that one.

i did enjoy severance though, one of the better 'danny dyer shit' efforts. they're remaking it? why?
