Recommend me a recent film that is funny.

2 years old so won't catch it in the cinema, but The Hangover (the first one, ignore the sequel) is actually very funny.

Loads of funny films out there - all you need are titles of the films, brother, then you can locate the films themselves.

Yes it is. By far the funniest Hollywood comedy of the last few years. Not a masterpiece of the genre, but certainly perfectly funny and enjoyable, far more so than about 95% of all such films.

It's not funny.

But that bit! With the face he pulls! And that car! Hahahahahahaha. It's like silent comedy you know. Except I think he talks sometimes.

he mutters occasionally.
he's very popular all round the world, just like that other unfunny bloke, benny hill

Yeah, he's a favourite of slack EFL teachers around the globe. Many, many hours of English language 'teaching' have been centred around his mirthsome mishaps.

When I was teaching in a Japanese high school, one of the English teachers would make me show Mr Bean if I covered his lesson. It used to make me laugh because obviously he doesn't actually speak any English at all! He claimed it was "British culture".. they LOVED it...

Me and hendo both laughed like drains all the way through Bridesmaids. It's proper funny.

The usual route is to do it as a 'mixed tense' lesson or some such bollocks. Stop the film every 5 minutes and ask questions like; "What has happened?" "What will happen next?", "If you were Mr Bean, what would you do next?" etc etc.

no such thing as a usual route in a Japanese High School.. :D He'd have been horrified if I'd done that!

It Aint recent but i watched Night Patrol a while back and its funny as feck! You even get a bit er stand up from the unknown comic! innit. Lush\''\

i watched cedar rapids and the other guys.
cedar rapids was so-so. it had a couple of funny wire reference jokes in it from isiah whitlock jr (shiiiiiiiiit guy) and john c reilly is always amusing.
will ferrell just has a funny face, like chevy chase, so i'll tolerate him in anything. the other guys was a bit long, but ferrell was in it, so all is forgiven. it was no elf or anchorman though.

I have a few videos and DVDs of funny films if you want to borrow one. Nothing new - older classics. I'm in little london.
oh, how rude, i did not notice this post. that's very kind of you. i should probably start working on my dad's collection though. not many comedies but hundreds of westerns and shitloads of european and japanese classics. he does have a few comedies like pink panther, team america and south park though. odd!
