Putting 'embarrassing' companies on your CV

If friend was working for Al Qaeda I would change the name on the CV to ISIS.

hth.

The company I work for actually was called ISIS. It took them quite a while to realise that thing in Syria weren't going to blow over. We've now been rebranded to something rather less toxic. However, we still have thousands of promotional biros that nobody West of the Bekaa valley could possibly want.

Apparently it was an Oxford based company originally, and named after the river that is called the Thames everywhere else. The company I worked for was taken over by them two years ago, and because they basically left the existing local management to carry on as usual, it was a week or so before somebody told us the meaning of the name. Up to that point some thought it was an acronym others an esoteric Egyptian mythological thing.

I have also worked for that company! I enjoyed my times with them.

If my son was a girl he was very likely to have been called Isis.
