Programs you just know are sh£t

Dragons Den: odious beneficiaries of obscene capitalism parading piles of money in a faux gangland environment decide the financial fate of bewildered wannabes.
That's a fair enough summation but I don't think it's a shit programme, far from it - in fact I think the concept is brilliant and the show is both entertaining and interesting. Unlike the obnoxious posers on The Apprentice - which is totally phony and nothing more than a lame game show/beauty contest - the people on DD have actually had ideas of their own and want to do something with them, and some are very impressive (and some of the shit ones are amusingly stupid too!). The dragons can be irritating sometimes (especially now that fame has gone to their heads) but they're making real business decisions for big money and I enjoy watching the decision-making process and in some cases their squabbling with each other. I think it's great tv.

I think the show is called the Only Way is Essex. I no TV now but the waves of media that it has generated shows me just how low brow TV can get.

But i know if i was stoned and in possession of a TV, i would know every character.

The Joy of never having seen Joey Essexs face, Must have some psych benefit that i am enjoying

The ideas aren't the problem, is the attitude of the cunts in the den who are either utterly hostile or desperately fawning to be in on the latest tend or social cause.

At least the idiots vying for the apprentice are so obnoxious and such desperate capitalist wannabes that its entertaining.

We clearly have very different ideas of what's entertaining! :D

The fundamental difference between the two shows is that the contestants in the Apprentice willingly put themselves forward and also seem to have traded collossal self belief for a commensurate lack of self awareness. It's schadenfreude.

Dragon's Den on the other hand has people get absolutely blasted by these awful 'dragons' just for the smallest of things. There was one episode where one contestant had the interest of both two of them including Deborah and was basically forced to choose. He wanted to ask the second Dragon that was interested what he had to offer and Meaden threw her toys out the pram. On another show a couple of guys claimed to have uinvented some plug socket that was super eco friendly or something and all 5 of them fell over each other to want to be the person linked to this fashionably green money saving climate saving invention (that i've never heard of since). The whole thing is a ghastly advert for capitalism: someone with a cool idea gets nowhere because the returns are 'too risky' (for a groupo of already wealthy people), all of whom want insane shares of your business.

Sorry, not for me.

Not for you. Really? You seem to have watched it a lot. Go on, admit it, you love it!

I pity the fool who doesn't get how awesome The Walking Dead is. :(

((fool))
I downloaded them all and did a marathon zombiefest. I got about half way through season 3 and I was getting pretty bored with it. Season 4 could probably have been condensed into half an hour, and if the trend continues, season 5 will consist of Rick finding a new hat for Carl, and the season finale cliffhanger will be when they notice the hat hasn't got a string attached.

((((unimaginative writers))))

Fair enough, it's not for you. I love it. :)
Some people go off it when they realise it's not really about the zombies (not saying that's you) and it's more about the people.
