Police shoot man in 'intelligence-led operation' in London

anything serious and organised would be describable as intelligence led but the shoot first, questions later thing here seems to suggest gang

OK, can we get over the jokes about police intelligence being an oxymoron? Not sure I find this a subject to be that flippant about tbh.

What I was suggesting is that those areas have units working on them that would enable armed cops to attend something as a planned event, rather than just happening on it or being alerted to it as it happened.

More news will come out soon I'm sure.

Some witnesses have said the man who was shot came running out of the house shooting, whilst a tarmac layer said his mate saw the police smash the man's car window before shooting, then pulling him out. :hmm:

Road worker Donald Campbell, 57, said he witnessed a flash of light in the wing mirror of his lorry after he heard officers smash the window of the black Audi estate.

He said: 'We were in the process of laying Tarmac.

'I was sitting in the lorry and I saw this flash of light in my wing mirror and heard a loud bang.

'The police dragged him out of the car and turned him over. It all happened in seconds.

'I think they shot him in his car and then pulled him out.

'I heard a lot of shouting, they were obviously warning him. My colleague saw them smash the window first.

'Police were up on the balcony opposite it and shouted for me to move

so he 'didn't come out shooting' as another witness said.

When you strip away the most obvious lies it looks like the most plausible explanation.

I know it's probably horrendously off message on here, but IMO the most plausible explanation looks like the fact he was armed and going to try and spring his mates from the court and the cops stopped him and shot him.
