Pizza

I've not tried the Aldi ones, but I'm often disappointed by those pre-made bases - sounds like it ought to be better than a pizza out of the supermarket freezer cabinet, but rarely is IME.

Worth a go if they're not too expensive though, maybe there are some good ones around - let us know if you try them and they're any good :)
Well they are £1.50 or so and approx the height and width of some a4 paper (not as thin though!) so if it means poshish pizza with some toppings of choice for around a fiver then maybe a goer. I will report back in due course

I'm curious, but think I'd rather just pimp one of their premades. I think they've got some of the best own brand pizzas going.

N loves a supermarket pizza, usually a fairly plain cheese one to which he adds stuff like olives, chillies, capers, sliced tomato/cherry tomatoes, and anchovies (we currently have a jar of small anchovies in chilli oil, but the big salted ones are particularly good)

Went for a rare trip to central London today and stopped off at Icco in Fitzrovia for the first time in maybe 10 years. Pizzas are still great and they're still doing Marinaras for £3.95! Forgot to take any pictures though
£3.95. that's for a slice? You can't get a supermarket pizza for that.

I work around the corner from there, and it's always such a pleasure when we have the team in doing weekend work to just order a dozen pizzas from them. We were at our other site this past weekend and the local pizza (from a fish and chip shop!) was sooooo disappointing in comparison.

Going to attempt to use these tonight

I have polpa fine, passata and regular tomato puree, but not sure which is the right choice for the tomato element

I have grated mozzarella, ricotta, goats cheese and cheddar for the cheese side

various types of cured meat, a tin of anchovies, a tin of sweetcorn sweetcorn, and fresh mushrooms, rocket and spring onions for the toppings

This will either go very well or very badly

Wow steady on. Just one or two toppings is fine by me.
