Always wanted to do that trip up the Karakoram Highway. Stunningly beautiful by all accounts.

Pubs are a bit thin on the ground, so I hear. The quality hash probably makes up for it though. Maybe that's why OBL stuck around, too bolloxed to mooch on.

Yeah I did the whole trip right up through Passu to China. Fantastic trip. Lovely people and the most spectacular scenery in the world. Pakistan is probably not a good place to visit right now but I am sure the Karakoram range is safe enough.

Pakistan ain't even safe for Pakistani's right now, I would give the whole place a miss.

Somebody on Newsnight just said that OBL "precipitated US involvement in the Middle East".

Fuck me, that's some balls.

Lucky sod. I do like an epic Himalayan road trip.

So the big question is....who's gonna star in the Hollywood version of last nights events? :hmm:

Ooh, I'll get this: Vin Diesel (grunt with a heart of gold), Nicholas Cage (coked-up sergeant from Gulf War 1), Ice Cube (actual sentient being who hangs with the locals), Mark Walhberg (grizzled combat vet who's seen it all), Katy Perry (at HQ, concerned and patriotic eye-candy). Feem choon by U2, produced by Jerry Bruckenheimer, directed by, oh, McG.

What's Jazzz's take on this story? Has he enlightened us yet?

We need to take a look at our own powers of reason if we need enlightening at this stage imo. Unless you just want to take the piss out of Jazzz. I'm in two minds .. I hope he doesn't waste his time and I also hope he does :p

we can only assume he's taking a little time to go through all the evidence, carefully analyse it, and come to the very wrongest conclusion he can possibly think of.

Who playing OBL?

Have to be a brit - Ben Kingsley as Ghandi gone very wrong? Ian McKellen? Stephen Berkov?
