Bristol's best kept secret ;)

I'm convinced that if they were from the other side of the pond they'd have rightfully been hailed as the saviours of psychedelic rock years ago. To their credit they've remained true to their basic Stooges/Krautrock gameplan for the last 15 years, honing their sound, oblivious to all passing fashions. The latest edition of The Wire describes them as 'The Groundhogs fronted by a particularly bored Kwik Save shelfstacker' (-or something like that).

Live, they are an incredible experience. TBH, Massive Attack's big Bristol gig last week did not interest me in the slightest, but knowing when The Heads were next playing here would really float my boat.

I wish they were more widely appreciated, but the fact is that they themselves just don't seem to have ever been particularly arsed about 'making it' (-but are arguably all the better for staying under their stone).

Prolonged intake of cider and skunk can have strange side-effects you know... ;) :D

No Talking, Just Head ......great album

wrong band. this is the Bristol 'The Heads' (and yes, they had the name first.. )

only been lucky enough to see them once, sunspots, up at the powerhaus (or it may have still been the george robey) and they were either supporting the butthole surfers or Chrome Cranks and i can't remember :( but they were fucking storming.

and yes, like you say, if they were from seattle or detroit they'd be posterboys by now.

ugly posterboys, mind ;)

The G 'n' R wasn't *that* bad, but don't think I'll be adding any to my wish-list.

Sepultura on the other hand, was utter, utter shite. :p :D The CD skipping probably didn't do it any favours, but it did mean I got to track three quicker than I normally would have done.

Thank fuck.

At which stage it became a coaster.

;)
