I'm gonna ignore that comment by Ringo. ;)

Instead, here is what I'm waking up to today.

7 Worlds Collide by Neil Finn

Heathen by David Bowie

The Division Bell by Pink Floyd

<edited to add: The above hasn't really woken me up so I've just put on The Baddest of George Thorogood and the Destroyers by George Thorogood & the Destroyers and I feel better already. >

Van Morrison - Moondance

Dexy's Midnight Runners - Searching For The Young Soul Rebels

Wire - Pink Flag

Shellac - Terraform

Max Romeo - Open The Gate

Theres a really good lee perry boxed set called open the gate,
everthing copied off the original vinyl, because Mr perry had lost the master tapes, can remember max romeo doing wet dreams when I was still at school.
Ive been listening to No other, by Gene Clark, its just been re-released.

"!!!" - !!!

(Hey, they know how to choose internet-search-friendly band names.......)

S'very good though. Reminds me of early 80's industrial funk stuff like ACR, 23 Skidoo etc

This morning on the way into work
BT Express (don’t know the name of the album)
Frank Zappa -Sheik Yerbouti

DOWN BY LAW - M.C. SHAN.
BITE THIS - ROXANNE SHANTE.
I'M A HOMEBOY - K ROB.
THEE UNTOLD STORY - MAJESTIC CREW.
KING KUT - WORD OF MOUTH / DJ CHEESE.
GET OFF MY TIP - MASTERDON COMMITEE.

Shuffling between:

Tectonics -- Adam Freeland
Eargasm -- Plump DJs

:)

Ooh, I haven't played my copy yet. It looks pretty good, hope it's got the same vibe as the Medicine8 album :)

On the CD player (well, turntable):

Akabu: Ride the Storm (Rob Rives rmx)

Something by Krafty Kuts I can't remember the name of, but had a dirrrrrrty bassline that made me bounce around the flat with a grin on my face:)

Yeah, I have that on vinyl, I think - "Words" and "Open The Gate" are fantastic. So much reverb on some of those tracks they sound like they were recorded in a wind tunnel or something...

Anyway - today is:

King Tubby's Firehouse Revolution (Pressure Sounds) - early digi biz.

the fall - this nation's saving grace

aphex twin - richard d james

soul jazz compilation - studio one rockers

the best of the zombies

Janes Addiction 'Strays' on the player again.

What a great album, for those Janes Addiction fans it might not be enough. Then again, for the same fans any album after thirteen years is going to be crap even if it's great.

High Contrast - True Colours

Richie Hawtin - DE9: Closer To The Edit

Plump DJs - Eargasm

A Ruffer Version - Johnny Clarke at King Tubby's 1974 -1978

Here I was Ringo expecting you to post up:

Guns n' Roses - Appetite for Destruction

Sepultura - Chaos AD

;) :p
