I only browse using New Posts, so it’s helpful to know it’s Olympic track and field as opposed to the normal track and field thread.

Would you put 'Bangor in Wales' if you were posting about said place in the Wales forum? I think not.
There is no UK team in the OlympicsLots of scope for new posts confusion. Breaking: UK battles France. That would have me scuttling for the windup radio and MREs.
I don’t read that bit though, I just read the titles and click on the ones that look interesting.New posts states the forum the thread is in
There is an Irish one, thoughThere is no UK team in the Olympics
I thought it was high-speed mincing. What all this walking bollocks. That's jogging ffs.
I'm not sure why not. Certain commentators insist on calling them 'Great Britain and Northern Ireland' every time, which gets a bit much. Am I missing something, but doesn't 'the UK' mean the same thing as 'Great Britain and Northern Ireland'? Maybe they should be forced to say 'The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland' every time? There is no UK team in the Olympics
Uk doesn't include, eg, Manx & Jersey, so Team UK would be as inaccurate as Team GB. Apparently, the IOC gave us the abbreviation GBR in 1896, so we just stuck with it.I'm not sure why not. Yes, I did wonder about that. So how about 'The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Crown Dependencies of the Duchy of Normandy and Gibraltar and the Falklands'? Said every time.Uk doesn't include, eg, Manx & Jersey, so Team UK would be as inaccurate as Team GB. Apparently, the IOC gave us the abbreviation GBR in 1896, so we just stuck with it.
Yes there is*, otherwise it's very confusing for the large amount of people who are using the 'new posts' feature. You know that the forum is already titled 'Olympics 2024'? There is, therefore, no need to put 'Olympics 2024' (or variant thereof) in the title.
