Olympics 2024 - General Discussion

Great ending to the game. Like the RSA New Zealand game RSA did some amazing defending on the last couple of plays. The fitness levels are superb.

Felt for Ireland. It seems their game is more about process and possession, let themselves down in the second half a bit. Hard to match Fiji’s instinctiveness though. At times they’re playing a different game

USA coach is Londoner and Perry Baker is an all time sevens great (converted from American football)

Just been on BBC news that an Australian hockey player badly broke a finger a while back and it would take too long to heal so wouldn't be able to take part in the Olympics. So he decided to have it amputated as it would heal faster.

Swimming has started, Women's 100m butterfly heats have finished and coming up we have the fascinating Summer McIntosh/Katie Ledecky/Ariarne Titmus battle in the Women's 400m freestyle.

(I happened to be in Glasgow Airport just as the Australian swim team were arriving for the Commonwealth Games. They looked massively out of place being about a foot taller than everyone else and incredibly fit looking.)

Sevens semis now on discovery. Cant work out if it’s life or not.

Won’t spoil as its probably on bbc later

France no 9 is pretty special. No DuPont yet
