My wife bought a hummingbird feeder earlier this year, and a few of the little birds have been hanging out around our balcony over the summer. We've identified three different individuals that come regularly, although they are all territorial, so sometimes there are dogfights to see who gets to stay. Anyway, one was hanging around today so I got my camera out and grabbed a few pictures.

Nice. Around here, a kingfisher would be far more exotic. There are hummingbirds all over the place in Southern California.

Nice. Is the ISO figure for your fly photo correct? ISO 5700?

I knew that the D500 reviews indicated outstanding high-ISO performance, but it's amazing how little noise there is in that picture at such a high ISO.

It is correct.

For an crop sensor is does handle the light (or lack of it) pretty well. I use Auto ISO most of the time because it barely gets it wrong
