I did a few stints in a local foodbank earlier in the year and it really was depressing. People so thankful at being offered a cup of tea and a bag of chips and a roll while filling in the forms. The foodbank didn't have the three strikes and out policy and many came back when things got really tough.
I was only able to help out as my Ingeus work provider adviser made sure my appointments were on the days it was open so I could get my fares returned for going into the next town.
