New York City Mayor Eric Adams has been indicted on five federal charges related to bribery, wire fraud, and soliciting campaign contributions from foreign nationals, according to a 57-page indictment unsealed Thursday morning.

He is facing one charge each of bribery and conspiracy to commit wire fraud and two charges relating to receiving campaign contributions from foreign nationals. He is also charged with wire fraud.

CNN is reading through the indictment and will update with detailed information on the charges.

"95% of all metro systems are younger than the NY city subway,"

It's still a sprightly young thing compared to London, with the underground Metropolitan line between Paddington and Farringdon being opened in 1863.

Fun fact! Metro systems all over the world are named after this line (Metropolitan = Metro).

me:

Bruce Blecher, who owns CitiFloral flower shop on York Avenue, close to the race route on First Avenue, sounded more frustrated.
“It sucks — that’s my quote,” Mr. Blecher said.

my mother had a 17th floor apt on first and i could see the runners forever.
which is nice and dramatic but then i'd have to walk 2+ miles south to cross first and then uptown again to get to my own apt
