New records - what have you just bagged?

High Llamas - Cold and Bouncy, for the equivalent of 70p. Ok, it's not new but it's new to my ears and as Microdisney and Beach Boys fan, am loving it.

Sitting on my hands*, resisting late night Discogs raids. My wife's in Seattle buying ropey looking Shirley Caesar gospel LPs, but also a few stormers

Someone sent her a copy of this for nothing the other day. Should I be suspicious :hmm:

*apart from a quid on a Shirley Bassey LP for the Public Enemy sampled

Gone a bit mad this week! :D
reissues of Super Furry Animals and The Pop Group
Also Warmduscher - Tainted Lunch and Patrick Jones & John Robb - Renegade Psalms

No other record collectors on Urban? :hmm: The wife and me have been delighting record dealers like never before. Mostly we're buying funk and gospel and, if I'm honest, it's the regular dopamine hit when the postie arrives with those 7" and 12" parcels that has got me through the last six months. Here's a random ten of the many that have entertained through lockdown

edited to add: don't they look lovely  :D

enticing selection!
id regale with you my latest MP3 downloads, but its not got the same allure to anyone but me i expect
wish you'd post more tunes/mixes GE...

i did buy one record recently - have been looking for a version of Brand New Heavies 'Got To Give' that i heard on a tape in 1990 and never could work out the edition - it came out in multiple version, none of which were quite right - finally found it - its on the b-side of the first 7inch release - not on youtube (yet!) - a 30 year puzzle put to bed! feels good...

Got some stuff from the RSD drops including the ODB box set, LKJ 2LP, missed out on a few things.
Also Bob Vylan LP and this 7" (a mate) off bandcamp

Also ordered a repress of an old Welsh language tune that's being sent from the US! Hope it arrives in one piece

Friday's guilty late night purchase is on the Numero Group's compilation - Home Schooled - The ABCs Of Kid Soul, but the original 7 on Jay Pee Records was cheap enough for an impulse buy. Cindy and the Playmates had children of their own when they recorded this, so aren't really 'kid soul' - a diverting sub-genre of records by school children trying to be the next Jackson Five - but the sound and lyrics fit the bill .

Also:

not enough tunes are 1 minute 40 seconds long

and the yellow vinyl reissue of

because why wouldn't you?

Grabbed a Euro re-Issue of this LP.
First song is excellent. Then some of them are utter madness for a top pop star of the time.

Sometime she is called the Japanese Kate Bush, though I bet she gets well pissed off with that as she came first.
Not this record (above) but the next one really does sound like it could have been the follow up to The Kick Inside though. When my wife (Japanese) first heard me listening to Kate Bush she thought it was Yano.
