new manix album

always disagreed wtih Reynolds on his dissing of 'intelligent' and jazzy jungle ( he put the boot in a fair bit in energy flash) - the sax solo in Universal Love isnt cheesey  only sounds cheesy to the nonbelievers out there ;) at least he's honest about being built in sneary in his pre-amble to the broken beat stuff (blaming his rock upbringing)

as for this
The Brazilian fetish also results in some truly puke-provoking Portuguese-sounding names--Modaji, Misa Negra, Domu, Da Lata (apparently a reference to some folkloric tale about marijuana first
arriving on Brazilian shores in a tin---pass the sick bucket, please).
Jazzanova's own name is enough to make me vom into my lap each time my eyes make contact with it. And as I've said before in these pages, you can tell a lot--maybe everything--from the names of bands and titles of records.
pass the muso journo snear bucket
here we go: you can tell a lot--maybe everything--from the names of music journalists - Simon Reynolds, the ring of Oxford university through and through, a name brimming with the sureness in his own position, someone who cant do, but still thinks he knows best
Not sure if West London/broken even counts as a
genre as such, it's more like an aggregation of oneupmanship strategies---a
tapestry of music styles that have all historically been rallied to as
connoiseurial bulwarks of taste and musicality against the plebeian rave horde.
more supreme snobish twatishness - its not against anything you knob

but the chronology of RR being a year ahead at every turn is spot on

Fact is all marc and dego output is fantastic - even less successful tracks are part of their characters and expression and they've earnt the strips that its all beyond critique... like miles davis...theres loads of miles albums i dont particularly want to listen to but i wouldnt dare criticise them <its all part of him and who would dare have the arrogance to knock that?

they are splitting the pre orders over 3 days
yeah seemed to go in less than half hour
i did look but too late, not sure i can justify it tbh

Ah ok. But yeah, I can't justify spending that sort of money - do love the 7" and centre adapter idea though

(And that Manix/Goldie remix of You Held My Hand is a personal, but still, even so)
