NoFollowing Farnborough's latest win and my mistrust of the Ryman / FA to stick to their original ruling, I agree that we will need to at least try to win to stay out of the bottom 4. Unfortunately, our appalling home record doesn't give me much hope - can't we play at your place again?
Burgess Hill Town fans seem uncertain about the 4th relegation spot as well. I reckon there's enough confusion and/or distrust of the Isthmian League's clarity that Needham Market may well play as if they need points, regardless of whether that's true not.
Given that Farnborough will definitely go down at least one level, and the teams in similar positions in the Southern and Northern Premier Leagues cannot match the points totals of any of the Isthmian teams in danger of finishing in 21st place, 21st in our division looks safe enough to me.Following Farnborough's latest win and my mistrust of the Ryman / FA to stick to their original ruling, I agree that we will need to at least try to win to stay out of the bottom 4. I agree with that too. Am really looking forward to Saturday, not just because it is a new ground for me.Given that Farnborough will definitely go down at least one level, and the teams in similar positions in the Southern and Northern Premier Leagues cannot match the points totals of any of the Isthmian teams in danger of finishing in 21st place, 21st in our division looks safe enough to me.
Furthermore, reading the potted history of the club in the matchday programme when they visited us, the contrast with the toxic Farnborough couldn't have been more stark. They appear to have an extensive and sound infrastructure that should stand them in good stead for the future, with a flourishing Academy set-up that has produced many of their current first team squad. It would be a real shame if they had slipped straight back down again in their first season, having never attained this level before. Whereas Farceborough have shamelessly exploited their relegation from the Conference last year in a brazen attempt to wriggle out of repaying their debts on a technicality, caused chaos for fellow member clubs by failing to fulfil several early season fixtures which had to be rearranged for midweek dates, and are now overspending yet again on ex-pros in what looks like being a successful bid to avoid the double drop that had hung over them all season.I agree with that too. Am really looking forward to Saturday, not just because it is a new ground for me.
The Needham Market fans were a friendly bunch at our place, so hopefully more of the same.
Yes, quite a few changes though the main stand is basically the same. Clubhouse has been extended, with much improved catering facilities, more covered standing on far side, seated stand behind one of the goals (with a stand due to go up at the other end in the close season). Generally much tidier but still has that 'made it up as we went along' feeling, which some people like and others see as a bit of a mess! Bear in mind we have had 3 promotions in 10 years, so started from a very basic local league set up.
Errr. I've been around longer than the pair of them
noob.
the Indian(curry inn) is still lovely, not sure bout the chef but same front of house staff.Re food, I was in Needham Market a couple of years ago and there was an excellent curry place by the station. Unlikely to be of use to those on the bus but may interest anyone travelling independently. Just hope the chef etc hasn't changed since then.
Just listed the ones I knew.
The Hamlet forum was the busiest single forum on urban last month so WE ARE ALL URBAN!There are a few urbs that come to games. But I'd say the majority of posters don't know and don't care about Dulwich or they have the whole forum on ignore. The cheek of it.

Really?? Bloody hell. Busier than nobbing and sobbing? How are you measuring busy-ness just out if interest? Number of views, visitors, posts, a combination?
Edit: but also how many of the hamlet posters venture outside of this forum or even identify as urbs. I'm not sure we all are urban
I'm occasionally tempted to see whether I can keep up my LtP ratio outside of the relatively benign environment of the Dulwich forum, but I'm not sure whether intense involvement in threads on things like 'can you reconcile Sartre & Marxism' would be good for me given I can get really hot under the collar, far too easily, in one of the 'Moss vs Carew' set-tos.
