It seems this takeover of Nagorno Karabakh was allowed/encouraged by Moscow. Long term diplomatic strategy, good or bad, overturned in a very short time frame. Doesn't exactly encourage Ukraine to sit down and negotiate.

Certainly abandoned any Armenians living in N-K since last summer when they stepped aside and allowed the blockade to happen.

Jerusalem's a heavy place. When I was there all the little Arab boys carried toy guns at all times. Sometimes they'd pretend to shoot people with them. Proper freaked me out the first time it happened.
