Oh to be young again!! Surprised I've made it this late. Not much track laid, but i have sussed and wired my little control panel so i can tinker in the hidden storage line while running another train. This is only a temp power set up until I fire up my DCC controller and PC control!

And just because I can. I built this bridge for my old layout. It is the vantage point where all those great photos of the entrance to Ramsgate and the EMU shed are taken from and in the early 30s this loco was allocated there

Hello train fans


Nothing much visibly done to the layout, but i have made the hidden inclines longer to lessen the gradient, still not perfect but they also have adjustable supports now

A few more to make still, it's been a bit cold and well, cricket and kittens



I had a nice little parcel today of some more Cambrian Models wagon kits and I've scored a Bachmanm BR green 4CEP for an absolute bargain. To be wrapped for Xmas

Made a start on two 8 plank wagons. These are really enjoyable to make. These will be on coal duties but later in their life they were adapted and carried cable drums for electrification so i'd like to make some like that at some point

Was looking through my webhosting today and found some pics on there of a signal box i don't really even remember making! I think it must have been stolen with my trains as it was a complete surprise seeing them. I had to check the background to see if it was my house. Thought I'd chuck em up here rail fans

Something I've been trying to work out is what the hell i based it on! It must have been a real signal box as my imagination isn't that good but fucked if i can remember. Being that I was making a model of Ramsgate I thought it might be that but while it has some similar features it isn't that?? Very odd!

3x 7 plank wagons built. I'll add tarps once they are painted. I was about to start 4x 10 ton vans and realised 3 of the kits were missing the floors so have emailed the supplier and the maker of the kit. Will move on to painting what I've built I think.

Had spotted a small leak earlier in the week so knew I would have to sort it.. At least some of the ceiling has been removed for me! Nothing that can't be fixed hopefully

I cant complain too much!! Im running in an Oxford ex-GWR Dean goods from laptop control ...



But Mumbles I hear you say.. This is a Southern layout!!! Well, in WW2 some of the Dean Goods, having been sent abroad in both world wars found themselves in War Department service and one was based at Hythe with a 9.2" Rail Gun.. Some pics of the Hythe one, and a couple of others from a magazine I just got hold of Ill be making said Rail gun of course
