More police brutality than you can shake a stick at.

This guy may well find that living in a second amendment society may have it's disadvantages...

What a fucking piece of human crap.

If the seatbelt incident happened in this country, there's no way in hell that dashcam footage would have survived, it'd have been accidentally wiped or 'found to be not operating properly'. US cops are more brutal, ours are more crooked.

Prison officers too:

A Louisiana parish is arguing that it should not be held liable for the rape of a 14-year-old girl in a juvenile detention center because the victim “consented” to be sexually assaulted by a 40-year-old corrections officer at the facility.

The victim, now 20, filed a civil lawsuit against her assailant, former guard Angelo Vickers, as well as Terrebonne Parish.

The age of consent in Louisiana is 17, but court documents allege that “Vickers could not have engaged in sexual relations within the walls of the detention center with [the victim] without cooperation from her. Vickers did not use force, violence or intimidation when engaging in sexual relations.”[...]

See also this local report:

[...] Terrebonne Parish President Michel Claudet said he could not comment on the case itself but expressed confidence in the work attorneys are doing on behalf of the parish.

“We have attorneys working for us and they have to take certain actions that they feel are necessary to our interests,” Claudet said.

Some parish officials told of the defense strategy expressed concern that attorneys for a community that prides itself on strides made combating sexual abuse and aiding youngsters who fall prey to it would take such an approach.

Others say they understand the hardball tactic, noting their opinions on the baggage Mary Doe and other young women victimized at the detention center brought with them.

“These girls in the detention center are not Little Miss Muffin,” one official said, asking not to be quoted by name [...]

Mayor's perspective, summarised:

‘It's his own fault because even though he hadn't done anything wrong I think he did something wrong, and even though he didn't do anything really wrong, he might have done something really, really wrong like killing two cops even though he didn't kill two cops, so the cops here were totally justified in smashing that window, spraying kids with glass, tasing the dude and dragging him out of the car. If he didn't want this to happen he shouldn't have gone out dressed in that provocative little dress. Or been black.’

From Berkeley anti-killer cop demo.

I was listening to a report on one of the killings when I realised they were talking about a new killing not one of the previous ones. It made me wonder if we are seeing an increase in police shootings or just an increase in media attention.

Talking of the Berkeley protests, seems today a pair of plainclothes or undercover cops (possibly confirmed as California Highway Patrol officers) tried to infiltrate crowds there but got outed, with one pulling out a pistol and waving it around like he's in a John Woo movie whilst the other wrestled a protester to the ground to cuff him:
