I don’t really mind whether cooking contests have any integrity, and food porn is very watchable - certainly much more than any other kind of reality TV - I just don’t care particularly about the fate of the contestants who have entered a fame lottery if the programme is pulled.

Well think of the poor bloody viewers who have endured weeks of this shite - we need to see the final FFS.

I agree. George has had to cook again a fair few times, possibly every time. He makes mistakes. I think it's between the other two now, and I'm edging towards Chiara. She's been the most inventive, and I think she impressed at the Chefs' Table with her pea pudding.

Last year, the top restaurant they went to was wanky. This one was anything but. Absurdly complex, but that did look like amazing food. And the chef and his staff seemed to be genuinely really nice and generous.

Looking it up, for a two-star restaurant, its tasting menu isn't absurdly expensive. 150 quid for the dinner, 85 quid for the lunch. Dinner is 18 courses! So around 250 quid each with wine and service charge for the dinner. I've still never done a posh tasting menu and it's probably something I'd only get to do once if I ever do, so I'd be picky about which one to choose, but I would like to do it as a treat one day. I would like to go there.

That's the problem with this format. Gaston fucked up once and is out. Other than that he was amazing throughout. It needs a points based system.

Based on overall performance, Gaston beats George every time. They would have overlooked the sauce on the floor but his mousse was grainy. Cooking doesn't get tougher than this! The slayer has been slain.

For the next series Marcus has asked for a dumb waiter to be installed. To take their cooking up another level. I thang yaou.
