Yes, but is he going from the frying pan into the fire? He's already been offered a slot on GB News called "Taut Men". But never fear, he won't be straying too far from the kitchen as he'll always have a chip on his shoulder.
I notice that Wallace is claiming only middle class older women complained. It wouldn't occur to him that only that group would feel secure enough in their status to complain. Even then, it was mostly overlooked but at least didn't cost the complainant their career.
Si King FTWGreg's cockernee barra boy salt of the earth antics have never amused me. He's the guy who sold the programme fruit and veg and has no relevance to food beyond that as far as I'm concerned. When judging the plates, does anyone really care what he thinks or how much he laughs at the reaaallllyyy meaaatyyyyy sauuuuuceee? If he hates the dish and the other two like it, job's a good 'un. I could live without the pretence that his opinion matters at all.
He's done a video response thanking people for messages of support. No comment on the allegations, of course. Ciao mamma. So who will be his replacement? Jay Raynor seems the most media-friendly of the associates. Or some pleasant general presenter? I don't really care; I'm there for the actual food not comedy relief.
Oh dear, talking about digging a hole
"handful of middle-class women of a certain age".
I'm not sure they could stop.I can't believe they're still broadcasting this series. Who's advising them?
I'm not sure they could stop.
The most recent series is still ongoing. I appreciate that they can't do a "Sherry Pie edit" to use a Drag Race reference, so I wonder just how far the ratings will plummet as a result
I doubt it'll make much difference to the ratings. Wallace is a side-show to the main event. Surely people watch it for the contestants and the inventiveness of the dishes they produce, not for him.
Wallace is barely in the Professional series after the first rounds. The Beeb must be very grateful for that at the moment.

This is also kind of insinuating that other women (young? working class?) don't have a problem with him.I notice that Wallace is claiming only middle class older women complained. It wouldn't occur to him that only that group would feel secure enough in their status to complain. Even then, it was mostly overlooked but at least didn't cost the complainant their career.
I guess Wallace could be positioning for a role as GB News's first TV Chef.. i hear its quite lucrative working over there. Failing that there's always a regular slot of Channel 5 daytime TV.
I guess he'll be welcome wherever misogynistic men and women rule. He's only offended women, after all. He hasn't offended men. On the contrary, from some of the comments I've seen elsewhere.
This will do him good in some circles. "can't say anything these days" "getting cancelled for saying a few rude jokes" "the BBC is so woke these days" etc etc.I guess he'll be welcome wherever misogynistic men and women rule. In 1991. Someone died.4000 women. 13 complaints. You do the math.
In 1985 no-one died.
