mass grave of 800 infants found at Galway 'fallen women' home

I would have thought the articles should be enough to trigger an investigation.
Still, whatever reason, I hope there is one.

You know fine well that nobody will see the inside of a court or a gaol cell over this.

Because Ireland.

I heard this sad story on the radio this morning....those poor souls.

I had a nun as a headmistress and she was as hard as nails....her face, her manner...everything about her and I used to think all nuns were angels before I came into contact with her.

In the few surviving black and white photographs taken at the site no child is smiling. Instead they simply frown at the camera, their blank stares suggesting the terrible conditions.

Horrific, just horrific. The descriptions of children suffering, basically, from starvation in mid 20c Ireland are unbelievable.

Greebo and I were talking about this last night, and the fact that a significant number of death certificates feature "convulsions" as one of the causes of death.
Convulsions, unless epileptic, usually occur in children with fever. The simplest way to reduce fever is to administer aspirin, something that was already piss-cheap by the 1920s. Even with severe cases of infection, by the '40s antibiotics were also available cheaply.
Basically, these kids weren't seen as having enough value to "waste" a dozen aspirin on, by the supposed "nurses" (the raison d'etre behind this particular holy order) who were charged with their care.
Fuck them all. Dig up the graves of any cunt involved in this, and re-bury their bones in unconsecrated ground - preferably a slurry pit. Murderous cunts.

Can anyone who feels strongly about this please sign and share this petition demanding a full investigation into these deaths. I want to make sure that the Irish government understands that this won't go away again.

Do Avaaz petitions 'work'?

Genuine question - I'd like to do whatever and donate, but don't want to promote anything ineffective that takes weight away from anything more effective

I don't know, but the media here have been reluctant to promote this story and action will absolutely not happen unless the government is put under pressure to take it. This grave was found 40 years ago and back then the attitude was cover it up and don't talk about it. This time around, it has to be shown that people aren't willing to let that happen again.

Plenty of non-muderous cunts gulity by vurtue of their indoctrination and their fear. And still these superstitions are taught to children as fact. Today, right now.

They aren't just taught as fact here, they are practically mandatory as the RCC still runs over 92% of our schools. Getting a non religious education for your child is extremely difficult for those in large population centres as the very few multi-d schools are vastly over-subscribed and pretty much impossible for those in rural areas where they don't exist. And there is a huge problem with people having to baptise their child in order to ensure they get a place in a state financed school as most are Catholic and they are allowed to discriminate based on religion.

Apologies if this article has already been posted but it has today's date on it.

Bodies Of 800 Children Were “Just Resting” In Mass Grave, Claims Catholic Church

“There’s a lot of speculation as to what went on in The Home following these recent revelations” said Monsignor Sean Green, spokesperson for the Irish branch of the Catholic Church Scandal Containment Unit, “people seem to believe that because these children were born to unmarried mothers the church at the time considered them sinful and unworthy of a decent Catholic burial, so basically threw their little remains into the nearest hole they could find”.

“But trust me, that wasn’t the case; I assure you, those bodies are just resting in that mass grave. Cover up the mistreatment of children? Not at all. We’ve always planned to exhume them and bury them properly, and we’re going to get right on it really soon”.

Yes, it's a different time. But when was it ever acceptable, or right, to throw the body of a dead child into a septic tank?

When you thought:

a) it was appropriate

and/or

b) you'd get away with it.

So the question to the individuals who did it and to the Catholic church in Ireland is which was it; a or b?
