I'm watching it on laptop as b/f might throw me out of the window if I make him watch any more sports

Seen this:

0135: The halfway point is passed in one hour, two minutes and 36 seconds. "Reckless" is the word the commentators are using as the mercury slowly rises in thermometers around the Chinese capital.

What nonsense. As if it's not hot in Athens and other host countries :D

Look at the fucking speed they are going at. If I have to run 100 yards at that pace for a bus I'm out of breath for 5 minutes :D

yeah, but I think they were running much slower in the first half in athens.

If they can keep this up I'll be well impressed. bbc commentators are starting to do my nut in with their constant repeating of the 'I just don't understand what they're doing' type phrases. interesting to see who's right, the athletes at the front or the commentators. I'm betting on the athletes;)

then again, it's 28 degrees, but they've not mentioned the humidity.

What temperature was it in Athens?

You would of thought the commentators would of learned a lesson after the womens race.

commentator - these 5 athletes are going to be proper fucked by the time the reach the birds nest stadium:D

well he didn't actually say proper fucked like, but that's what he meant;)

Would seem the Athens marathon was run at 6.00pm. Probably did it then as they knew it would be too hot in the day.

However temperatures at the start were 80 degrees fahrenheit (26 celsius), and 40% humidity -

Fucking irritating isn't it? It's like a tube announcement.

According to BBC live text commentary

The BBC weather centre reports that it's currently 24 degrees Celsius in Beijing, with humidity at 63%, though I suspect things have hotted up a bit since.

world champion's stopped - he was with the top pack earlier on but dropped off a few minutes ago.

looks like the bbc guys might have been right:hmm:

i am watching it, was going to go to bed, but there's only half an hour or so to go now, so might as well watch it to the end:)

incredible time 2.04 odd coming into the stadium, must be a great moment when the winner enters the stadium, if they are far enough ahead like
