Manchester City - Jesus saves, Ederson plays - MCFC - OK!

Anyway, utterly gutting for City.

I know it doesn't work like that, but felt like this season was destined to end in a City v Liverpool Champions League final.

Honest to god, with the greatest respect Jonathan, what the fuck are you on about?!

It was a remarkable 15 minutes or so either side of the 90 minutes, and there were some other good chances, but people really have short memories with their talk of "best ever" and "never seen anything like it".

Went for a celebratory piss on 90 and heard the equlaiser go in. Came back and it was 2-1. I knew what was gonna happen after that.

Very disappointing, but less so than normal in the shadow of nuclear war.

Good luck Liverpool in what has a good chance of being the last CL final, if not the last big football game ever...

As a Madrid fan I’m perfectly happy to state that City are noticeably a superior and more gifted and technically skilled side, but to use a cliché, that’s football. I think the body language of the City players we all saw at the end of the first leg foretold the mood and apprehension the City camp must have been under for the last week.

I would also add that Guardiola was surprisingly agitated on both legs whenever Madrid scored a goal, or even created a chance, even when City were two goals up and playing Madrid off the park. Which might have rubbed off on the squad.

My biased standpoint would suggest that this was due to Guardiola obsessively hating Madrid (which he undoubtedly does). I might be wrong about that m, but there’s no denying he was the opposite of calm and cool.

A minor lol at my expense for grieving city fans:

I went to the pub to watch the second half and it turned out they were having a quiz so the sound was off. Anyway, watched all the drama through to the end of the 90 minutes + injury time. I thought Madrid had then won on away goals, not knowing they'd scrapped the rule. I was slightly surprised they weren't going mental on the pitch, but thought nothing of it and wandered off home. 5 minutes later I looked at my phone and saw they were playing extra time.

heard somebody moaning about it this morning, saying that his record outside of the Bundesliga is atrocious. I think he was 18 when he went to Leipzig. :D

Something like a goal a game since mind. And he's still 21. Ridiculous.

That's nonsense too, he got 29 in 27 for Salzburg
